PTSD andTrauma
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that can develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event. Symptoms may include flashbacks, nightmares, hypervigilance, and avoidance of reminders of the trauma. Trauma-focused therapy, such as cognitive processing therapy (CPT) or eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR), can help individuals process traumatic memories, reduce symptoms, and regain a sense of safety and control. For complex trauma, our team may also use Schema therapy, ACT, DBT and attachment-based approaches.
Good News Stories in Trauma Healing
As a trauma therapist, Cat Yates, owner director writes:
“It’s so amazing to work with clients who have been trapped by their trauma to see them rebuild and heal from this. EMDR has an amazing way of helping people heal and process, in a safe and relatively short amount of time. For others, it may be more long-term work that we do together that helps them heal from complex trauma. None the less, it’s a privilege and honour to help people more through this difficult period and see their true self re-emerge. Our team are all trauma informed in the way that we practice, and we aim to be a safe place for those who may have had difficult experiences in the past.”
