Grounded in a person-centred approach rooted in acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), Shane is dedicated to employing solution-focused strategies to assist athletes and clients in overcoming performance challenges.
“I’ve always had a passion for sports and sought ways to engage with the industry. Combining this passion with my desire to help people, I embarked on an extensive educational journey to turn this dream into reality. My profound interest in performance psychology has enabled me to identify strategies to help clients unlock their full potential, both personally and professionally. These strategies encompass addressing performance anxiety, enhancing attentional skills, fostering consistency, motivation, and building confidence, among others. I view psychology through a strength-based lens, emphasizing the importance of skill development in all contexts, not just when facing challenges. My mission now is to support aspiring athletes and members of the community in overcoming mental barriers hindering their desired performance.”
In 2024 Shane was the Performance Psychologist for The Cockburn Cougars NBL1 men’s and women’s basketball teams.
